ABSTRACT

An assortment of environmental matrices includes arsenic (As) in its different oxidation states, which is often linked to concerns that pose a threat to public health worldwide. The current difficulty lies in addressing toxicological concerns and achieving sustained detoxification of As. Multiple conventional degradation methods are accessible; however, they are indeed labor-intensive, expensive, and reliant on prolonged laboratory evaluations. Molecular interaction and atomic level degradation mechanisms for enzyme-As exploration are, however, underexplored in those approaches. A feasible approach in this case for tackling this accompanying concern of As might be to cope with undertaking multivalent computational methodologies and tools. This work aimed to provide molecular-level insight into the enzyme-aided As degradation mechanism. AutoDock Vina, CABS-flex 2.0, and Desmond high-performance molecular dynamics simulation (MDS) were utilized in the current investigation to simulate multivalent molecular processes on two protein sets: arsenate reductase (ArsC) and laccase (LAC) corresponding arsenate (ART) and arsenite (AST), which served as model ligands to comprehend binding, conformational, and energy attributes. The structural configurations of both proteins exhibited variability in flexibility and structure framework within the range of 3.5-4.5 Å. The LAC-ART complex exhibited the lowest calculated binding affinity, measuring -5.82 ± 0.01 kcal/mol. Meanwhile, active site residues ILE-200 and HIS-206 were demonstrated to engage in H-bonding with the ART ligand. In contrast to ArsC, the ligand binding affinity of this bound complex was considerably greater. Additional validation of docked complexes was carried out by deploying Desmond MDS of 100 ns to capture protein and ligand conformation behavior. The system achieved stability during the 100 ns simulation run, as confirmed by the average P-L RMSD, which was ∼1 Å. As a preliminary test of the enzyme's ability to catalyze As species, corresponding computational insights might be advantageous for bridging gaps and regulatory consideration.

ABSTRACT

Background This study aims to investigate the prevalence of thumb and wrist pain among smartphone users in the general population of Saudi Arabia, examining the potential links between the duration and frequency of smartphone usage, specific smartphone activities, and the occurrence of discomfort in the thumb and wrist. Methodology This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted at Jazan University, Saudi Arabia, between July 2022 and June 2023. The questionnaire developed following an extensive literature review, covered demographic information, smartphone usage patterns, assessment of thumb or wrist pain, and evaluation of the impact of this discomfort. Descriptive statistical methods were employed, and relationships between thumb or wrist pain and demographic variables were analyzed using chi-square and Wilcoxon rank-sum tests. Results In total, 811 participants were included in this study. Approximately 322 (39.7%) study participants reported wrist or thumb pain. Notably, female sex (P = 0.001) and prolonged daily smartphone usage exceeding five hours (P = 0.045) were linked to thumb or wrist pain. Additionally, emailing on smartphones was linked to thumb or wrist pain (P = 0.04). Concerning smartphone ergonomics, the majority of respondents reported holding their phones with one hand (215, 66.77%), in a downward position (290, 90.06%), and with their wrists bent downward (136, 42.24%). Conclusions Our study highlights a relatively high prevalence of wrist and thumb pain among smartphone users in the general Saudi Arabian population. Furthermore, we identified a connection between prolonged smartphone use and wrist and thumb pain, with a more pronounced prevalence observed among females.

ABSTRACT

Herein, we fabricated an ultrasensitive electrochemical immunosensor for the quantitative detection of corticosteroid-binding globulin (CBG). CBG is a protein that regulates glucocorticoid levels and is an important biomarker for inflammation. A decrease in CBG levels is a key biomarker for inflammatory diseases, such as septic shock. To enhance the electrochemical performance and provide a large surface area for anti-CBG immobilization, we functionalized the glassy carbon electrode surface with AuNPs. Electrochemical characterization methods including cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) were used to examine the construction of the fabricated immunosensor. The electrochemical signal demonstrated a remarkable sensitivity to the CBG antigen, with a detection range from 0.01 to 100 µg/mL and a limit of detection of 0.012 µg/mL, making it suitable for both clinical and research applications. This label-free immunosensor offers significant advantages, including high sensitivity, low detection limits and excellent selectivity, making it a promising tool for detecting CBG in complex biological samples. Its potential applications include early disease diagnosis, treatment monitoring and studying CBG-related physiological processes.

ABSTRACT

Objective: The objectives of this study are to identify the prevalence and the factors behind overweight and obesity among the healthcare profession's students. Methods: A well-structured and validated questionnaire was distributed to a heterogeneous purposive sample of the healthcare profession's students in Saudi Arabia. Results: About 21.0% and 15.5% were overweight and obese, respectively. The average knowledge score was 70.6% and increased with age and among obese participants. The average attitude score was 74.8% with no variation within age, body mass index (BMI), and gender. The average practice score was only 36.7%. There was a significant variation of the practice within the different age groups (P = 0.021). There was a significant association between the participant's knowledge and attitude, and practice. Conclusion: The average practice score was poor. Despite their good knowledge and positive attitude, the students are exposed to heavy junk food marketing, which encourages overconsumption by instilling positive emotional associations with the junk food. They are mostly physically inactive, anxious and sleep deprived, which can lead to poor eating habits. For this group, various strategies and motivators will likely be needed.

BACKGROUND: To date, no studies have identified an optimal metric to match donor-recipient (D-R) pairs in pediatric heart transplantation (HT). OBJECTIVES: This study sought to identify size mismatch metrics that predicted graft survival post-HT. METHODS: D-R pairs undergoing HT in Pediatric Heart Transplant Society database from 1993 to 2021 were included. Effects of size mismatch by height, weight, body mass index, body surface area, predicted heart mass, and total cardiac volume (TCV) on 1- and 5-year graft survival and morbidity outcomes (rejection and cardiac allograft vasculopathy) were evaluated. Cox models with stepwise selection identified size metrics that independently predicted graft survival. RESULTS: Of 7,715 D-R pairs, 36.0% were well matched (D-R ratio: -20% to +20%) by weight, 39.0% by predicted heart mass, 50.0% by body surface area, 57.0% by body mass index, 71.0% by height, and 93.0% by TCV. Of all size metrics, only D-R mismatch by height and TCV predicted graft survival at 1 and 5 years. Effects of D-R size mismatch on graft survival were nonlinear. At both 1 and 5 years post-HT, D-R undersizing and oversizing by height led to increased graft loss, with graft loss observed more frequently with undersizing. Moderately undersized donors by height (D-R ratio: <-30%) frequently experienced rejection post-HT (P < 0.001). Assessing D-R size matching by TCV, minimal donor undersizing was protective, while oversizing up to 25% was not associated with increased graft loss. CONCLUSIONS: In pediatric HT, D-R appear most optimally matched using TCV. Only D-R size mismatch by TCV and height independently predicts graft survival. Standardizing size matching across centers may reduce donor discard.

ABSTRACT

Drug repurposing is an emerging field in drug development that has provided many successful drugs. In the current study, paracetamol, a known antipyretic and analgesic agent, was chemically modified to generate paracetamol derivatives as anticancer and anticyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) agents. Compound 11 bearing a fluoro group was the best cytotoxic candidate with half-maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50 ) values ranging from 1.51 to 6.31 µM and anti-COX-2 activity with IC50 = 0.29 µM, compared to the standard drugs, doxorubicin and celecoxib. The cell cycle and apoptosis studies revealed that compound 11 possesses the ability to induce cell cycle arrest in the S phase and apoptosis in colon Huh-7 cells. These results were strongly supported by docking studies, which showed strong interactions with the amino acids of the COX-2 protein, and in silico pharmacokinetic predictions were found to be favorable for these newly synthesized paracetamol derivatives. It can be concluded that compound 11 could block cell growth and proliferation by inhibiting the COX-2 enzyme in cancer therapy.

ABSTRACT

Spirulina platensis, a microalga known for its exceptional nutritional value, especially its bioactive compounds and protein content, holds promise for incorporation into functional food products. Ricotta cheese whey is a byproduct of the production of ricotta cheese that is difficult to use in industries due to its low pH and less favorable processing qualities. This research aimed to create a unique fermented ricotta cheese whey-based beverage supplemented with various Spirulina powder concentrations (0.25 %, 0.5 %, and 0.75 % w/w) cooperated with a mixture of lemon and peppermint juice 10 % and fermented by probiotic (ABT) culture. The physicochemical, rheological, bioactive compounds, microbiological, and sensory properties were evaluated over a storage period of 21 days at cold storage. Spirulina-fermented whey-based beverages with a mixture of lemon and peppermint juice increased the concentration of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and total phenolic compounds in the final product. The count of probiotic bacteria in all fermented beverage samples exceeded 7 log CFU/mL throughout storage, indicating that the fermented beverage kept its probiotic properties. The addition of 0.5 % Spirulina significantly improved the final product's structural qualities and sensory acceptance.

ABSTRACT

Endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs), expressing markers for stemness (CD34), immaturity (CD133) and endothelial maturity (KDR), may determine the extent of post-stroke vascular repair. Given the prevalence of stroke in elderly, this study explored whether variations in plasmatic availability of certain EPC subtypes could predict the severity and outcome of disease in older patients. Blood samples were collected from eighty-one consented patients (≥ 65 years) at admission and days 7, 30 and 90 post-stroke. EPCs were counted with flow cytometry. Stroke severity and outcome were assessed using the National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale, Barthel Index and modified Rankin Scale. The levels of key elements known to affect EPC characteristics were measured by ELISA. Diminished total antioxidant capacity and CD34 + KDR + and CD133 + KDR + counts in early phases of stroke were associated with disease severity and worse functional outcome at day 90 post-stroke. Baseline levels of angiogenic agent PDGF-BB, but not VEGF, positively correlated with CD34 + KDR + numbers at day 90. Baseline LDL-cholesterol levels were inversely correlated with CD34 + KDR+, CD133 + KDR + and CD34 + CD133 + KDR + numbers at day 90. Close correlation between baseline CD34 + KDR + and CD133 + KDR + counts and the outcome of stroke proposes these particular EPC subtypes as potential prognostic markers for ischaemic stroke.

CONTEXT AND RESULTS: Site-directed spin labeling (SDSL) combined with electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy methods has been successfully used to predict the structures of nucleic acids. These methods measure the distances between spin labels yielding distance equations that are solved using numerical algorithms to provide one or several structural predictions. In this work, the minimum number of SDSL distance measurements and distance measurement types required to predict a unique nucleic acid structure were investigated. Our results indicate that at least six distance measurements should be obtained given that the distance measurements do not connect one SDSL on one arm with more than three SDSLs on the other arm. Moreover, there may be a preference for 1-to-1 SLs distance measurements rather than 1-to-many SLs as the latter was linked to undefined structures discussed in this study. METHODS: Pairs of double-helical arms of nucleic acid were simulated using the finite element software Pro/ENGINEER (PTC Inc., Boston, MA). In each simulation, a specific SDSL distance measurement plan was adopted and the resulting structure was tested for movability. Immovable structures indicate that this plan will potentially result in a unique structural prediction of the nucleic acid. All the possible plans for SDSL distance measurements were investigated either by direct measurement or by extrapolation.

ABSTRACT

Wissadula periplocifolia (L.) Thwaites is a traditional medicinal plant belonging to the family Malvaceae, used in folk medicine for inflamed snake bites and bee stings. The current study was designed to investigate the in vitro antioxidant and in vivo anti-inflammatory and hepatoprotective activities of 80% ethanol extract of W. periplocifolia and its different fractions. The crude ethanolic extract (CEE) was then serially fractionated with petroleum ether fraction (PEF), chloroform fraction (CHF), and aqueous fraction (AQF). The antioxidant activity was assessed using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical assay, anti-inflammatory activity was determined in the xylene-induced ear edema model, and hepatoprotective activity was measured in the paracetamol-induced hepatic injury model. PEF showed a significant scavenging effect with an IC50 value of 33.5 µg/mL, followed by CEE (IC50 = 42.2 µg/mL), CHF (IC50 = 77 µg/mL), and AQF (IC50 = 80 µg/mL), compared to standard butylated hydroxytoluene (IC50 = 14.8 µg/mL). Both doses of CEE (250 and 500 mg/kg) could reduce ear edema by 41.3 and 50%, respectively, compared to standard diclofenac sodium (76.09%). Moreover, CEE significantly reduces the elevated liver enzymes (ALT, AST, and ALP), compared to control. Nevertheless, it elevated blood protein and reduced the blood bilirubin level (p < 0.01), compared to control. Histopathological studies also indicated significant protection of the liver from paracetamol-induced liver damage. In conclusion, W. periplocifolia could be a good source of antioxidant and hepatoprotective phytochemicals; meanwhile, toxicological and pharmacokinetic studies are recommended.

ABSTRACT

Acute kidney injury (AKI) poses a significant challenge in critically ill patients. To determine the prevalence, risk factors, and mortality rate of AKI among nonsurgical critically ill patients in Jordan University Hospital, we conducted a retrospective study using a consecutive sampling method, including 457 nonsurgical critically ill patients admitted to the medical intensive care unit (MICU) from January to June 2021. The mean age was 63.8 ± 18 years, with 196 (42.8%) developing AKI during their stay in the MICU. Among AKI nonsurgical patients, pulmonary diseases (n = 52; 34.5%) emerged as the primary cause for admission, exhibiting the highest prevalence, followed by sepsis (n = 40; 20.4%). Furthermore, we found that older age (adjusted OR (AOR): 1.04; 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.04-1.06; p = 0.003), preadmission use of diuretics (AOR: 2.12; 95% CI: 1.06-4.25; p = 0.03), use of ventilators (2.19; 95% CI: 1.12-2.29; p = 0.02), and vasopressor use during MICU stay (AOR: 4.25; 95% CI: 2.1308.47; p = 0.001) were observed to have higher mortality rates. Prior utilization of statins before admission exhibited a significant association with reduced mortality rate (AOR: 0.42; 95% CI: 0.2-0.85; p = 0.02). Finally, AKI was associated with a higher mortality rate during MICU stay (AOR: 2.44; 95% CI: 1.07-5.56; p = 0.03). The prevalence of AKI among nonsurgical patients during MICU stay is higher than what has been reported previously in the literature, which highlights the nuanced importance of identifying more factors contributing to AKI in developing countries, and hence providing preventive measures and adhering to global strategies are recommended.

ABSTRACT

Vibrio cholerae is the bacteria responsible for cholera, which is a significant threat to many nations. Curing and treating this infection requires identification of the critical protein and development of a drug to inhibit its function. In this context, Na(+)-translocating NADH-quinone reductase was considered a potential therapeutic target. A library of antibacterial peptides with residue lengths of 50 was screened using a docking method, and the five most potent peptides were selected on the basis of a weighted score derived from solvent accessible surface area and docking score. To investigate the stability of the protein-peptide complex, a 100-ns molecular dynamics simulation was performed. These peptides targeted the native dimeric binding interface of Na(+)-transporting NADH-quinone reductase. This study evaluated the binding affinity and conformational stability of these peptides with the protein using different post-simulation metrics. A peptide, CCL28, exhibited steady RMSD characteristics; nonetheless, it modified the docked conformation but stabilized in the new conformation. This peptide also demonstrated the best performance in addressing the protein's native binding interface. It demonstrated a binding free energy of -120 kcal/mol with the protein. Principal component analysis (PCA) revealed that the first PC had the lowest conformational variation and the greatest coverage. Eventually, these peptides were also evaluated using steered molecular dynamics, and it was discovered that CCL28 had a greater maximum force than the other five peptides, at 1139.08 kJ/mol/nm. Targeting the native binding interface, we present a CCL28 peptide with a strong potential to block the biological activity of Vibrio cholerae's Na(+)-translocating NADH-quinone reductase.Communicated by Ramaswamy H. BACKGROUND: Despite significant contributions to stem cell research in Saudi Arabia, knowledge and awareness of stem cell research is the subject of ongoing studies with controversial findings, specifically among medical students. This was a cross-sectional study with 685 medical students aimed to explore their knowledge and attitudes in relation to stem cell research and transplantation. METHODS: A validated survey exploring knowledge and attitudes in relation to stem cell research and transplantation was administered. The total knowledge, attitude, and age scores were presented through mean and SD RESULTS: The results of the present study showed that university students in the Eastern Province had an average 35.88 knowledge of stem cell research. In contrast, the attitudes were positive among the entire study sample, with a mean of 3.79 out of 5. Both men and women had significant knowledge about the definition of stem cells and adult stem cells, bone marrow, whether stem cells can be used for drug testing, and recommended stem cell treatment if available. CONCLUSIONS: The medical curriculum needs to be refined and enriched with additional data on organ and stem cell donation. This can be further enriched with experimental evidence through additional training initiatives that will allow those with negative attitudes to re-evaluate their perceptions and provide accurate information to patients as future health care providers.

BACKGROUND: The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) stands out as a widely used measure of psychological resilience. The original CD-RISC consists of 25 items, commonly referred to as CD-RISC-25. AIM: This study aims to validate the Arabic version of the CD-RISC-25 involving a sample size of 1220 participants from three universities in Jordan. METHODS: The researcher conducted a methodological investigation to examine the validation process. This included an examination of the translation process and an evaluation of content validity, which was assessed using the content validity index (CVI). Construct validity was assessed through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis, while convergent and discriminant validity were both evaluated using composite reliability (CR) and the square root of the average variance extracted. RESULTS: Results showed a prominent level of psychological resilience 76.74±15.2 among the participating university students. Regarding the validity of the Arabic version of CD-RISC-25, the CVI yielded a value of 0.88, signifying a robust level of content validity. The analysis identified four constructs that accounted for 56.26% of the total variance. The goodness-of-fit indices, including goodness of fit index of 0.91, comparative fit index of 0.91, incremental fit index of 0.93, Tucker-Lewis index of 0.94, and root mean square error of approximation of 0.048, provided strong evidence supporting the alignment between the observed data and the hypothesized constructs. Discriminant and convergent validity were found to support the validity of the Arabic version of CD-RISC-25. Regarding the reliability, it demonstrated excellent reliability, with a total Cronbach's alpha of 0.934 and all CR values surpassing the threshold of 0.70, thereby further establishing its overall robustness. CONCLUSION: The results provide substantial evidence for the validity and reliability of the translated Arabic CD-RISC-25.

Objective: This study was aimed at testing the psychometric properties of the posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) checklist for the Diagnostic Statistical Manual version 5 (DSM-5) (PCL-5) among the Lebanese population and at identifying the prevalence of PTSD. Design: A cross-sectional survey of PCL-5 among 950 Lebanese, using the online survey platform by Google Form, was conducted. Snowball recruitment was used to identify participants for the survey. Results: Face, content, construct, discriminant, and convergent validity had been accomplished through the survey. The reliability using Cronbach's alpha, composite, and average variance extracted was identified as superior. We also found that more than half of the participants (55.6%) scored 33 or above which is the cut-off score for a likely diagnosis of PTSD. Conclusion: The current study provides further support for the validity and reliability of the Arabic version of PCL-5 among non-Western populations. This supports using the checklist in the screening of probable PTSD.

ABSTRACT

A series of new 1,ω-bis-(5-alkyl-3-tosyl-1,3,4,2-triazaphospholino)alkanes 2 and 3 were obtained in excellent yields by the condensation of 1,ω-bis-(1-tosylamidrazone)alkanes 1 with two equivalent molars of Lawesson's Reagent (LR) and trisdimethylaminophosphine, respectively. All synthesized compounds were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques including IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and 31P NMR and elemental analysis. The newly synthesized compounds were evaluated against key enzymes related to diabetes and obesity such as α-amylase and lipase. This study showed that the compounds 3a and 2b are an excellent inhibitor of α-amylase (with IC50 = 18.8 mM) and lipase (with IC50 = 19 mM) respectively, as compared with standard, orlistat (IC50 = 22 mM). Among this series, compounds 3a and 2b with the CH3 or C2H5 group at position 6 were identified as the most potent inhibitors against α-amylase, and lipase enzymes. The remaining compounds were found to be moderately active. Further, molecular docking simulation studies were done to identify the interactions and binding mode of synthesized analogs at binding site of α-amylase and lipase enzymes.

ABSTRACT

Behçet's disease is a systematic, inflammatory disorder affecting vessels of all sizes. It affects both venous and arterial systems. Vascular involvement carries a high risk of morbidity and mortality. Knowing that Behçet's disease is the most common vasculitides that causes pulmonary artery aneurysms, with a mortality rate of around 25%, makes early detection crucial. Thrombosis in Behçet's disease is mainly caused by an inflammatory process rather than a thrombophilic state, thus vascular thrombosis control is achieved with immunosuppressant medications rather than anticoagulants. An exception to the use of anticoagulants in Behçet's disease appears to be due to cerebral venous thrombosis. The occurrence of multiple site thrombosis and aneurysm simultaneously makes the management very challenging, as we will highlight in our case. We present a case of a 31-year-old female patient with many prior hospitalizations due to cerebral venous thrombosis, bilateral pulmonary thrombi, right ventricular thrombus, and right pulmonary artery aneurysm. The patient was diagnosed with Behçet's disease according to the Behçet's Syndrome International Study Group criteria and then managed with the prophylactic low molecular weight heparin, cyclophosphamide, and prednisolone, resulting in significant improvement in the patient's symptoms. Presentation with cerebral venous thrombosis, pulmonary thrombosis, and aneurysm simultaneously is very rare in Behçet's disease. This made this case distinct and challenging in achieving good control of thrombosis and aneurysm simultaneously, which needs close monitoring and a multidisciplinary team to deal with the case.

ABSTRACT

Melioidosis is a potentially life-threatening infection caused by the Gram-negative bacillus Burkholderia pseudomallei. Mediastinal melioidosis has a range of clinical presentations, making it difficult to diagnose: we therefore reviewed the evidence on the clinical characteristics, radiological features and invasive diagnostic modalities or interventions. An electronic search was conducted on three databases (PubMed, SCOPUS, Google Scholar) from November to December 2022. The initial search yielded 120 results, of which 34 studies met the inclusion criteria, but only 31 full-texts were retrievable. Among these, 4 were cohort studies, 26 case reports or series and 1 a conference abstract. The four main themes covered were mediastinal melioidosis as a diagnostic dilemma, unexpected complications, invasive interventions or an accompanying thoracic feature. Radiological manifestations included matting, necrosis and abscess-like collection. Severe presentations of mediastinal melioidosis included superior vena cava obstruction, sinus tract formation and pericardial tamponade. Transbronchial needle aspiration was the most common invasive diagnostic modality. Further research is needed to understand the relationship between the thoracic features of melioidosis on patient prognosis, its relationship to melioidosis transmission and potential preventive measures.

ABSTRACT

Hepatic portal venous gas (HPVG) is an infrequent yet potentially life-threatening condition that necessitates prompt diagnosis and effective management. This study presents the clinical scenario of an 88-year-old known diabetic patient, with chronic kidney disease (CKD), stroke, and hypertension, who was brought to the emergency department with symptoms of vomiting, constipation, and abdominal pain. Upon conducting a computed tomography (CT) scan of the abdomen, dilatation of the small bowel and pneumatosis intestinalis in the right abdomen, accompanied by the presence of air within the portal vein, were identified. Subsequently, an emergency laparotomy was performed, which revealed no evidence of ischemia, and the patient was treated with IV antibiotics. This case highlights the significance of adopting a multidisciplinary approach and timely interventions in the management of HPVG. The successful resolution of this complex case underscores the importance of prompt diagnosis, appropriate resuscitation, and surgical intervention, all of which play pivotal roles in enhancing patient outcomes.

ABSTRACT

(1) Background: Earthquakes are natural disasters that often result in significant loss of life and property. The objective of this study is to explore the frequency of symptoms associated with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), levels of meaning in life (ML), and perceived social support (SS) among university students in the aftermath of the earthquake that occurred in Turkey and Syria in 2023. (2) Methods: This study utilizes a cross-sectional correlation design to achieve its objectives among 603 university students from two public universities using an online survey (via Google Forms). The survey was launched one month after the earthquake in Turkey and Syria and concluded on 6 April 2023. (3) Results: The results indicate that a total of 158 university students, constituting 26.20% of the sample, reported extreme symptoms of PTSD. The results also indicate that 184 students (30.51), and 140 students (23.22%) reported low levels of ML and SS, respectively. Female students were significantly more vulnerable to experiencing PTSD symptoms, as well as difficulties in finding ML and SS. Finally, results revealed that students who were pursuing postgraduate studies had a greater likelihood of exhibiting symptoms indicative of PTSD. (4) Conclusions: It is recommended that universities provide support services and resources for students experiencing PTSD symptoms.
